Where has the day gone to? It seems I never get all the things on my list marked off. Maybe the lists are too long? I mean, I’ve been busy all day, really I have. Why is it the list only seems to get longer?
I’m being hard on myself, I guess. I have done a lot today. I just haven’t FINISHED anything. Between battling with difficult people and trying to figure out myPhp (I haven’t a clue) I have been hitting road blocks all along the way.
The things in my control, on the other hand, have gone smashingly well. All my holiday presents are wrapped and labeled. It’s a small pile this year. the kids are almost all grown up, so the presents have gotten smaller and more practical. Still have no idea what to get for my DH. He wants dirt. That’s what he always says when asked. Maybe I should just get him some…
Jazz on the radio at the moment to help me get into the drawing groove for my newest picture book art. I swung by the publisher’s web site this afternoon and was surprised to see they have it up for pre-order already. Agh! Talk about putting the pressure on. It’s okay, though, I’ll make the deadline, I always do. It’s good to know they have faith in me!
I have a pile of books in the to be read pile:
Publishers Weekly magazines for the month of October and the 1st 2 weeks of November.
House of Many Waters by Diana Wynne Jones
Elements of Fiction Writing: Conflict, Action & Suspense by William Noble
I’d Rather be in the Studio by Alyson B. Stanfield
Licensing Art 101 by Michael Woodward
and not really reading material per se The Only Grammar Book You’ll Ever Need by Susan Thurman (because it’s been a a looong time since high school English and I need a refresher course! LOL
I just finished Jake Ransom and the Skull King’s Shadow by James Rollins. I liked it and had no problem reading through the book quickly, but unlike the Percy books, I am not itching to run out and get the sequel.
Back to the drafting table, I have an art deadline to meet! 😀
Wendy, I LOVE this doodle, really fun! I know exactly what you mean, I am so frustrated that their never seems to be enough time for everything- I posted on a similar topic recently under “new stuff coming soon” and my friend Garry left a very inspiring comment – check it out on my blog if you’re interested, it really made me feel better! That’s great you got your Christmas stuff done already, you’re ahead of me there….best of luck with everything….
Cheers! Susan
