This week I took our youngest child to register for her first year of college classes. She graduated from high school just this past Sunday.
Sending the baby off into the world is a bitter-sweet event. It’s a normal part of growing up, but the letting go of a child is hard, hard, hard.
It’s her time to blossom and grow, and in a way, my time, too. As a full-time mommy, her needs had top priority. If I’ve done my parenting well, she will be quite capable of seeing to them for herself now. So, it is time for me to redefine myself again and remember who I was before she was born.
This week’s coloring page reflects how I’m feeling. The tart of lemon, combined with the sweet of the sugar makes for a refreshing summertime drink.
